Our 11-room guesthouse suits best to small groups and families. We have mostly twin rooms and there are beds for 21 people. With extra beds, we can accommodate 28 people in total. The price of the room includes breakfast. Dinner is available only on pre-order.
Loona Manor is at a considerable distance from larger cities where fancier foods can be found. Therefore, our menu mostly consists of dishes made of simple, locally available ingredients. We are neither the first nor the only ones to discover that our food traditions can be shared with others. We are more than happy to cook for you using carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, and pumpkins grown in our village gardens to allow you enjoy pure flavours
All the elements typical of Saaremaa are revealed at their finest in West Saaremaa. Here you can enjoy a scenic coastline with numerous islets offering wonderful sunsets, interesting cliff coasts, grazing lands and alvars dappled with junipers, beach meadows and sheep flocks, coastal villages with windmills, farms and stone fences, old harbour sites and boathouses, lighthouses, and churches. A walk through Loona manor park will take you to the former cattle barn of the manor where you can get tips for hiking and all-round information on the Vilsandi National Park.
The manor complex consists of buildings with centuries-old history.
In 1997, Visitor Centre of the Vilsandi National Park
was opened in the newly renovated manor house.
Today, the visitor centre is in the former cattle barn building, and a
guest house and
café
have been opened in the manor house.
The single-storey stone manor house has been built in several stages, mainly in the 17th and 18th centuries. The building got its modest Classicist look, typical of the manor houses of Saaremaa, in early the 19th century and has preserved it to this day. Besides the main building, the manor complex includes a carriage house, a granary (Loona holiday cottage), a garden pavilion (house of fossils of the State Forest Management Centre), a cattle barn (State Forest Management Centre information point) and a dairy cellar. The buildings form an ensemble with the park area which retains its historical park pavilions and decorative dolomite details: a lion sculpture, crater vases, etc.
I have been to Estonia 270 times and I have never before had so friendly, helpful and glad hostess and staff as here in Loona mõis.
